Subperiosteal (on the bone)
On the bone dental implants are placed on top of the jaw, secured with metal framework posts that protrude through the patient’s gums. These implants are often ideal for those who have inadequate bone height or cannot wear traditional dentures.

In order to undergo a dental implant procedure, it is often recommended that the patient is in good oral and overall health. The patient must have adequate bone in their jaw in order to support the implants, as well as healthy gum tissue, ideally free of periodontal disease.
